We have two chapels at Wollongong Memorial Gardens which can be used for funeral and memorial services. These spaces can also be hired for private and community gatherings.
Our chapels are well-lit and tastefully decorated to provide a calming, reflective environment for your service.
Both chapels are located at the end of the main driveway. They are wheelchair accessible, and two accessible parking spaces are available near the chapel entrance.
Main chapel
Our main chapel (pictured above) can seat up to 180 guests. We can also arrange standing room and external speakers for additional guests if needed.
Family chapel
The family chapel provides a more intimate setting, ideal for smaller services. It has seating for up to 60 guests. We can also arrange standing room and speakers for additional guests if needed.
Information for hirers
Both of our chapels have audio visual equipment to help you personalise your service with music and images.
Presentations and music can be played through USB or DVD, or you can play music separately through a USB, iPod or CD.
We recommend that you test your presentation and music at least 24 hours before the service to make sure it will work on our equipment. Please call us on (02) 4227 7780 to arrange a test-run.
Services can be live-streamed from our Main Chapel for an additional fee.
We can also make a complimentary recording of your service.
Please talk to your Funeral Director before the service if you would like to arrange live streaming or a recording.
We can provide space for catering as part of a memorial service.

How to book our chapels
For funeral or memorial services, your funeral director will generally arrange to book one of our chapels on your behalf. Talk to them about your needs, or call us on (02) 4227 7780.
There are two ways you can book our chapels.
Book online
Before you can make a booking request online, you will need to create an account or log in to Wollongong City Council's Online Services system.
To create an account, click the link Don't have an account? on the log in screen.
Once you are logged in, select Lodge an Application, then Cemetery Applications, and choose Application for Chapel Booking.
