Getting Ready for Anzac Day
Anzac Day in 2020 will be unlike any other we've had before.
Due to public health rules for Coronavirus, our usual ceremonies to commemorate the men and women who have served our country are on hold. For some, not being able to gather and remember those who have passed will be hard.
However, our gardens and cemeteries remain open, and everyone is welcome to visit us to remember their loved ones on this important day. We have dedicated spaces for ex-service men and women, and their partners, at Wollongong Memorial Gardens, Unanderra.
People who have served in our armed forces are also interred at other cemeteries throughout our region.
Our grounds staff have been working extra hard this week to make sure these spaces are in great condition for visitors coming to remember and reflect.
If you're paying your respects at our gardens or cemeteries this weekend, please follow health guidelines and stay distanced from other visitors.
We wish everyone a peaceful Anzac Day. Lest we forget.
